In order to give intervention and comprehensive therapies that are culturally appropriate care, nurses must have the necessary skills. The experiences they have at work help nurses learn new things and improve their abilities. A higher level gives you a deeper awareness of the social, political, and economic factors that affect patients and the delivery of healthcare, as well as more preparation for a wider range of practice. “Nurses must therefore avail themselves of the learning opportunities to meet up with the current standards through lifelong learning” (McMaster et al, 2018).

It is important for nurses to continue their learning process throughout their careers because patient care and organizations change routinely. Being able to understand all these different information just makes the nurse become and acclimate to new situations better. Learning new things is always good in any career specially in nursing. It helps with better patient care, being able to self growth that can allow different opportunities in their life (Qalehsari et al., 2017). As well as keeping up with hospital policies and avoiding situations that can endanger both the patient and nurse.

An organization such as Sigma Theta Tau International can assist nurses throughout their career lifelong by learning since these agencies keep up with new information. Being able to get a quick and informational module then getting a refresher test can help nurses stay up to date with information that may be put at the back of our minds but can have such an influence in patient care. These organizations help nurses become nurses throughout their course of school. Applying this as a routine update can have an influence through nurses that may be in patient care through the life span of their careers.
