The 3 students Group assignment is to collaborate and produce a 6-page persuasive research paper. You will answer the same question, taking a point of view based on your major: “Bachelor Degree in Strategic Communication”.

Paper’s premise question: Which communication discipline should take the lead in an organization’s management structure: Marketing or public relations? Should there be a Marketing Department with public relations people answering to the Marketing Dept. managers, or a Public Relations Department with marketing people answering to the PR department managers.

You will discuss the following:

  • 1-2 page section that provides a brief history of your group’s specialty, which is public relations for Strategic Communication majors.
  • 2. A 1-2 page section that discusses how media technology has affected your discipline over the past 15 years.
  • 2-4 page section that identifies the key differences between marketing and public relations and then discusses why you think your particular discipline has an advantage over the other one. This is the most important part of the paper.
