Option #1: Applying Diffusion Principles for Adoption
Research an organization within your field of study to examine an application of diffusion principles. Consider how you would encourage adoption of an organization-wide digital technology. Please feel free to align this paper with your Portfolio Project to assist you in your process. Your paper should include the following:
- Independent research that supports the advantages of your selected technology.
- A detailed plan for addressing how you will encourage various people within the organization (for example, executive leadership, management, analysts, production, customer service representatives, etc.) to adopt the technology.
- Roger’s 5-step diffusion principles.
Your paper should be 2-3 pages in length and conform to CSU Global Writing Center (Links to an external site.). Keep in mind that your cover page and bibliography do not count as pages due. Include at least two scholarly references in addition to the course materials. Consider making use of your recommended material as well. The CSU Global Library is a good place to find these references.
Option #2: Analyzing Channels of Communication for Adoption
Select a digital technology that you want to share with others for widespread adoption. The technology should benefit the mental well-being of individuals and follow the application of diffusion principles. Consider how you would encourage adoption of your digital technology. Please feel free to align this paper with your Portfolio Project to assist you in your process and can be something made up or perhaps an app that you’re familiar with, in which case you’ll need to do the proper research to learn how it went from innovation to widespread use based on Rogers’s channels of communication described in your reading. Your paper should include the following:
- Independent research that supports the advantages of your selected technology.
- A detailed overview explaining how you will encourage people to adopt the technology.
- Alternatively, if you’re researching a technology already in widespread use, you’ll want to explain the process of communication.
- Rogers’s 5 communication channels.
