My experience for patient teaching was a good experience. I went to patient room with two objectives or goals I want my patient to understand and verbalize for me about the benefits and infection prevention by the end of the teaching session which explains for me the teaching was effective.
Teaching a patient is not easy but it was a good experience my patient was engaged and active during the teaching session. she was answering or telling me the information she knows about breast feeding. Her attention was captured when I asked her to tell me what she knows about breast feeding before I start my teaching. And she verbalized a couple of things this experience helped me to not repeat what she already know about the topics and guide me what information should I give to the patient.
