Choose one of the following two assignments to complete this week. Do not do both assignments. Identify your assignment choice in the title of your submission.
Option #1: Technological Innovation for Human Services Administration
Do a little research to discover an innovative technology benefiting an organization with which you are somewhat familiar. The organization can be your job, CSU Global, or you can use something from a current event. Identify a technological advance that is meant to improve human services workers in some way. Examples of such an advance include AI-assisted tasks or virtual assistants.
In a well-written essay, address the following:
- Explain how the innovation specifically addresses an identified need.
- Discuss the implementation of your chosen innovation. How was it developed and by whom?
- Evaluate the following types of impacts from the implementation on the target population.
- Preventing burnout
- Promoting positive work environments
- Economic effects on the organization
- Given your understanding of the impact of this technology as currently used, how would you improve the technology or implementation? Explain and justify your response. If you don’t think it needs improvement, explain why.
Your paper should be 2-3 pages in length and conform to CSU Global Writing Center. (Links to an external site.)Keep in mind that your cover page and bibliography do not count as pages due. Include at least two scholarly references in addition to the course materials. Consider making use of your recommended material as well. Option #2: Technological Innovation for People in Need
Do a little research to discover an innovative technology benefiting a specific group in need with which you are somewhat familiar. The community of people can belong to a group to which you belong, a group that someone you know is in, or you can focus on a group you want to know more about. Identify a technological advance that is meant to improve people’s lives in some way. Examples of such an advance include a vaccine, or a clean water project.
In a well-written essay, address the following:
- Explain how the innovation specifically addresses an identified need.
- Discuss the implementation of your chosen innovation. Who developed the technology? Is it being used according to its original plan and target audience? Who benefits and how? Is it accessible to everyone who needs it?
- Evaluate the following types of effects from the implementation on the target population.
- Ethical effects
- Effects on social interactions and relationships
- Economic effects
- Given your understanding of the impact of this technology as currently used, how would you improve the technology or implementation? Explain and justify your response. If you don’t think it needs improvement, explain why.
