Description of Midterm Assignment
For this week’s assignment you will write a 5-7 paragraph essay for your midterm. In this essay you will write about the Americanization process. You will give a minimum of three examples of how the United States implemented the Americanization process in respect to those Mexican Americans living in the Southwest. Give a minimum of three examples of how Mexican Americans resisted the Americanization process and why or how they proved this treatment was unfair and not equal or just. Finally, state how the Americanization process impacted the Chicana Chicano community and it’s evolution in becoming. Give me your thoughts about the Americanization process resistance and any connection you can make to current conditions.
Criteria
This paper should be 2-2.5 Pages long, with title page, page numbers, 12 point Font, double-spaced. At a minimum, for every quote or piece of evidence you use, cite the author and year text or material was written. An example would be (Sanchez, 1993).
