The slide count does not include a cover slide or the reference list slide. | Step 1 Determine the health care structure of your organization. Describe the type of organization in which you work. Examples may include profit vs. not-for-profit, centralized vs. decentralized, large teaching hospital, small community hospital, and so on. Be as descriptive as possible using some of the characteristics of health care organizations presented in this lesson. Be sure to include the following: The structure and process of your health care organization The mission and vision statements of the organization A description of the chain of command, the hierarchy of decision making, and lines of authority. Step 2 Answer the questions. Explain the structure of your health care organization by answering the following questions: What are the advantages and disadvantages of your organization’s structure? What specific problems is your health care organization facing? Examples may include: large percentage of uninsured patients, high volume of acutely ill patients, high turnover, shortage of health care providers, and so on. What do you think the nursing’s role in solving these issues should be? Step 3 Add presenter’s notes. Include talking points and details in the presenter’s notes area for each slide. These notes should document what you would say to an audience about each slide if you were to present in person. |
