A patient safety organization refers to an established designation by the government of the United States to enable healthcare providers take part in the voluntary initiative for patient care outcomes improvement (McBride & Tietze, 2022). A conducive environment that allows healthcare practitioners to collect and analyze data for identification ad risk reduction connected to patient care is created by the patient safety organization (McBride & Tietze, 2022). Furthermore, patients are receiving quality care through the formulation of safety and quality analysis through the patient safety organization(McBride & Tietze, 2022).
One of the things that the PSOs have been designed to accomplish is the creation of a patient safety culture. PSOs take part in raising expectations and standards for continuous improvement which encourages patient safety culture (McBride & Tietze, 2022). Through taking part in the PSOs, an open communication line is availed to the health care practitioners encapsulating the patient safety information. In this case, it will be unlikely for the healthcare practitioners to place blame on each other in case of error considering how it is viewed in the PSOs that errors are connected to the systematic perception(McBride & Tietze, 2022).
The other thing is to promote learning and education. Within the PSO health care practitioners are allowed to exchange ideas and information that helps promote patient safety (McBride & Tietze, 2022). This ensures learning and education among healthcare providers are elevated. Throughthis technique, the rate at which solutions to resolve a specific health issue is increased, resulting in optimal patient outcomes(McBride & Tietze, 2022).
