- Complete the following outline to help structure the content of your literature review. Please refer to the current version of the APA Publications Manual for more information on what to include in a literature review. Completion of this outline requires citation of a large body of research on the study variables. Each heading in the outline should include supporting information from multiple empirical research articles (make sure to keep a record of what source each piece of information originated from).
- Introductory information (this should include general background information introducing your topic, the importance of the topic, and the gaps that exist in the current research)
- Variable 1 (This should provide a definition of the variable, important predictors and outcomes associated with the variable, and information about what current research tells about this variable in relation to your hypotheses)
- Variable 2 (Same info as variable 1)
- Relationship between study variables (This should draw together the information about each of your study variables and how they relate to each other to justify your hypotheses)
- Write a literature review (at least 10 pages) based on the information included in Attachments. Please refer to the current version of the APA Publications Manual for more information on what to include in a literature review. Ensure that all content is in your own words and no phrases, sentences, or paragraphs are taken directly from another source unless quotation marks are used. Direct quotes should be used sparingly. Citations should be provided for the original source that the ideas came from. Information from multiple sources should be integrated together, rather than simply summarizing one source per paragraph. Use the outline from assignment 5 as a guide for the structure of your literature review. You may use the same headings or modify the headings as necessary to support the flow of your literature review. Your literature review should conclude with a purpose section and your research question/hypotheses.
