Your Topic: Mass Media and Media Literacy
Assignment Details: Purpose: Media literacy is a significant challenge in communication today. This assignment is designed for you to discuss the challenges that mass media faces in the campaign for improved media literacy (MLO 2). This will help you whenever we discuss historical context and culture, and the theoretical frameworks of media.
Task: Follow the instructions below .
1. If necessary, review the eight major media industries mentioned in chapters 1-2. (Newspapers, Magazines, Television, Film, Books, Video Games, Podcasts and Social Media.)
2. For each one, discuss the challenge that each media industry has in the media literacy landscape. Why is this a challenge for the particular industry? Two to three sentences for each of the eight media industries will suffice.
3. Next, choose FOUR of the EIGHT and discuss what each of the four media industries could do to improve media literacy. How would your proposed idea or solution work? This can include your own ideas, as well as any that you might develop from conversations with friends, experience, etc. Two to three sentences for each will suffice as well.

5. Submit your work as a Word document file upload. Use 12-point Times New Roman font, double spaced.
