  • Option 1: Describe how linguistic and cultural diversity might impact assessment bias and the manner in which individuals collaborate.
  • Option 2: Discuss the implications on the field of special education of increased diversity in the student population. Include examples of linguistic, cultural, and socioeconomic diversity, as well as changing family structures.
  • Option 3: Explain how cultural and/or linguistic diversity can impact the use of assessment and how teachers can work toward reducing or eliminating test bias.
  • Option 4: Define the critical elements of collaboration, and describe the role of interactive communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution in effective collaboration. Provide examples of strategies teachers can use to engage family members across cultures.

  • Organization (0.25 points): Determine an outline with explicit level headings within your journal.
  • Source Requirement (0.5 points): Reference at least three scholarly sources including the course text in order to provide compelling evidence to support your ideas.
  • Page Requirement (0.25 points): The journal must be one to two double-spaced pages in length (not including title and references pages).

Use the guidelines below to create your lesson plan template and your written assignment of one to two double-spaced pages.
